The Wounded Healer
There’s a place in your chart that describes the source of your deepest wound, and offers a key to heal it. This is your Chiron placement—a celestial body named for the mythic centaur master healer, who healed the wounds of others, while remaining unable to heal his own.
This five part immersion in the myth and astrological impact is being offered as Chiron has ingressed into Taurus for the first time in decades, and is designed to immerse you in a realm of genuine awareness of the wound within, and the medicine it contains.
You’ve probably already looked up your Chiron placement.
You may even know his keywords — “core wound," “wounded healer,” “pharmakon.”
But keywords don’t bring understanding, and a wound isn't something you intellectualize.
Chiron is something you have to feel, sit with, dream with. After all, ancient students didn't read about Chiron, they apprenticed to him.
This class is your apprenticeship.
Introducing Healing the Centaur
Over five live sessions, we'll move through Chiron's story: his origins, his wounding, his teaching, his death and release — while learning to read Chiron's sign, house, aspects, transits, and synastry in your own birth chart.
Each class includes guided visualization, symbolic journaling, and a dream incubation practice.
In addition to the astrological insights offered, each week, you'll be invited to meet a different member of the centaur family (Chiron, Pholus, Nessus, Chariklo, Ochyrhoe) in your dreams, and bring what surfaces back into the circle.

Our Curriculum
Classes will blend mythic storytelling, astrological technique education, and guided visualization. In sessions two through five, we will explore our centaur dreams in an open-ended dream circle.

Mythic origins, the symbolic anatomy of the centaur, the astronomical discovery of Chiron, and your first dream invitation with Chiron.

Chiron by sign and house, exploring the somatic link between your Chiron placement and your wounding. Then, an in-depth look at Chiron's historic ingress into Taurus and what it means for the collective and for you. Second visualization and dream invitation with the centaur Pholus.

Aspects to your natal planets, the Chiron return, and Chiron in synastry — how your wound meets someone else's, and how you may heal together. Third dream incubation introduced with the centaur Nessus.

Exploring and understanding the roles of centaur asteroids Pholus, Nessus, Chariklo, and Ochyrhoe — the extended centaur family. Group exploration of our dream findings. Final dream incubation introduced with Chariklo and Ochyrhoe.

Our last session will be an open-ended discussion of our dream findings, and a guided group ritual to integrate Chiron’s teachings.

Meet your teacher
Hi, I’m Cristina Farella, astrologer and founder of Eighth House Astrology.
I’m the author of Divination for Dummies and the co-author of The Celestial Bodies Oracle. I hold an M.A. in Western Intellectual Traditions from the CUNY Graduate Center, where I studied Greek drama, classical literature, and the symbolic imagination of the ancient world.
My work as an astrologer weaves together:
• traditional astrological technique
• mythology and archetypal psychology
• perspectives on creativity and personal ritual
Through my teaching, I aim to help students move beyond memorization into deep, intuitive understanding of the natal chart.

Do I need to know my own Chiron placement already?

No — we'll help you find it in class 1, or you can look it up beforehand at any free chart calculator using your birth date, time, and location.
Is this beginner-friendly?

Some prior familiarity with your sun/moon/rising and basic chart reading will help, but you don't need advanced astrology training.
What if I miss a live class?

All classes are offered live, but recorded so that you can move along at your own pace. You have forever access to the material, so there’s no need to rush through it, either.
Is this therapy or a replacement for mental health support?
